Dear prayer partners,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and your mails that helps us to move forward.

God enabled me to travel to San Diego via Shanghai (China).  It was an hour transit where I prayed for the city and China.  Dr. Henry Tan, Acting International Director of TOPIC-International received me at the airport.  The Board member of TOPIC including Dr. Ramesh Richard, Rev. Paul Landrey and leaders from various places met from 31st July.  Rev. Devendra Rai and I were from India.  It was meaningful time of fellowship, sharing and planning for future of TOPIC ministries.

On 3rd August I spoke in Ethnos church.  Pastor Yucan Chiu, a young pastor has a growing congregation comprising mainly of university students from different parts of the world.  On 5th I traveled to Los Angeles and had meeting with Paul Park, leader from First Fruits Foundation.

On 6th I reached San Diego airport, my flight was cancelled and the airlines authorities were kind enough to put me on another flight to reach Kansas.  God enabled me to meet Steve and McGee from Lloyd Foundation and share about India.  Randy, another friend came to meet me.  Sudheer (Preach Word Ministries) and Grace Rachael hosted me in St. Joseph and facilitated for me to speak in Representative of Christ Fellowship on Sunday (10th August) and in the Indian fellowship with several people including Wilson, Gomathy and others that evening.

On 11th I traveled to New York.  Again a flight was cancelled and they made me fly through Washington and reached New York around 9 PM.  My cousin sister Vineta Livingstone came to pick me up and hosted me in her home.  On 13th I could visit Princeton Seminary and University and had fellowship with Kamalesh Stephens (both studied together in high school in Madurai).  On that evening there was a house fellowship in Vineta’s home conducted by Pastor Moses Pandian, where I shared the message.  God helped me to fast and pray and 14th and also write and finish some of the pending works.  On 15th I did some sight seeing and had a small seminar on “How to Meditate the Bible” for young professionals organized at Plainsboro by Babu Samuel.  On 17th Sunday I spoke in the church where Pastor Oswin Michael is the leader in English and Tamil worship.  In the evening I spoke in the church where Pastor Moses Pandian is the leader.  Vineta and her children Jayden and Ethan were of great help and host.  She was greatly encouraged, equipped and enlightened by my visit and long conversations with her.  Glory belongs to God.  On 18th morning Vineta dropped me at the airport.

I traveled to San Jose, Costa Rica.  Otto Kladensky, Director for TOPIC-Latin America received me and hosted in his home.  Costa Rica is a Central America with a population of about 4 million.  On 19th we had one day Urban seminar where 43 city leaders participated.  I took three sessions:  Biblical basis for urban missions, Migration and its impact on urban missions and Networking for effective urban missions.  All leaders were greatly blessed; they took extensive notes and asked many clarifications.  I also spoke a group of leaders on 23rd who were interested to know about India.  On 24th Sunday I spoke in the Vineyard Church, Heredia  (Pastor.  Manuel Oviedo).  It was wonderful to see the world’s largest active volcano crater that reminded of the Mt. Sinai experience of Israelites.  On 25th there was a meeting with over 80 pastors.  I shared about city transformation based on the Book of Lamentations.

On 26th I reached Chicago and picked up by Dr. Paul De Neui and hosted me in his home.  On 27th I recorded an interview with Dr. Paul for the online course on Partnership.  I also gave a lecture on missions to missiology students.  28th night I reached Rev. Saji Lukos home.  On 29th I had good time of fellowship with Rev. Saji Lukos and Dr. David Goodman.  I also spoke in “Youth Encounter” programme on the same night.  On 30th I am speaking in a fellowship in Wisconsin.

The unprecedented violence against Christians in Orissa for more than 8 days is disturbing trend.  Please pray for peace in that state.

Please pray for September which would again be hectic.  I would be completing one more week in US, then reach Chennai on 10th.  11th-27th  I travel to Delhi, Lucknow and Colombo for teaching in GLOMOS II.  I teach on evangelism in these three places for which I wrote the text book.  Also pray for the publication of my next book, “Christ and Transformational Missions” and Hindi version of “Christ and Missional Leaders”.

Yours in His Vineyard,

J.N. Manokaran
